Hello!
I’m Stefanie, and welcome to the Little House of Steffy.
My love for hand painting and upcycling furniture started in 2016 when I bought my own little home and started scouting for unique old and new furniture that I could upcycle and make pretty to furnish my home. Upcycling particularly appealed to me as it is a craft that goes beyond creativity and saves items from landfill which reduces our environmental impact.
The process of changing and enhancing the furniture gave me so much pleasure. I loved exploring older pieces of furniture and discovering little hints to their history and where they may have spent their many years. Posting their new makeovers on my social media brought in friends asking me to upcycle pieces of furniture for them too.
As time went on, this hobby became a serious passion, and I continued to source more old and newer furniture to make beautiful, so I had to sell some of the earlier pieces I had done to make room! Finally, I started to think that I could make this into a small business, but unfortunately, busy day-to-day life took over.
My passion was reignited in early 2020 when the world, as we knew it, changed, and I found myself doing what I loved again and investing back in my passion. I started selling pieces again, acquiring lots of commissions along the way, and the Little House of Steffy was reborn!
In March 2021, I was accepted as a House of Upcycling member, which was an outstanding achievement for me. The House of Upcycling is the UK and Irelands leading authority on professional upcycling for interiors. It is a wonderful and supportive organization of professional and highly talented upcyclers that I am proud to be associated with. You can view my Directory page
